​I'm a photographic and mixed media artist based in Petworth, West Sussex.  My work combines photography with hand applied gold, silver and copper leaf, transforming familiar landscapes and subjects into atmospheric reflective artworks.

Over the past few years I have developed a personal gilding process that adds reflection, depth and a shifting quality, each piece changes with the light and the viewer.

 

I draw inspiration from historical photographic processes but re-interpret them using safer contemporary materials.  My aim is to echo the atmosphere of those early methods.

Each image is carefully selected and edited, then hand gilded with gold, silver or copper leaf.  The process is slow and intentional.

 

For presentation I use re=purposed and vintage frames, including old crittal windows.  The frame becomes part of the story.

 

My work is inspired by the quiet beauty of the rural landscape, especially trees and woods.  I am interested in the space between stillness and subtle movement, and how light transforms a scene.
